Rain still has the stage across Southcentral, honey, and Memaw has the windshield wipers working overtime. 💅☕🌧️ The sun is playing a little peek-a-boo through the clouds, but don’t let those brief appearances fool you. The wet stuff is still calling the shots today.
Wasilla is looking at a high near 60°F, Anchorage near 59°F, Kenai near 55°F, Seward near 54°F, and Homer near 58°F. Rain chances climb through the day, especially across the Kenai Peninsula and along the southern corridors.
And tonight? The aurora forecast is showing active activity, with a forecast Kp of 3 around 10 PM. The catch is the same one Memaw always gives you: clouds have to cooperate. 🌌☁️

💅 Reality check: Seward Highway is not the place to make up lost time today. Wet pavement plus active construction is a lousy combination for hurry-up driving.

🌌 Aurora Watch
The Geophysical Institute forecast calls for active aurora activity Wednesday, with activity reaching Kp 5 at 1 AM, Kp 4 at the current period and again around 4 PM, and Kp 3 around 10 PM.
The forecast specifically says active auroral displays may be visible overhead from Utqiaġvik to Anchorage and Juneau if skies are clear.
Tonight’s problem is not the aurora forecast.
It’s the clouds.
🌌 Memaw’s advice: Don’t give up on the sky completely. Check it later if the clouds break. Alaska likes to keep a few surprises in her purse.
