FAIRBANKS, Alaska – A Fairbanks teenager who was reported missing earlier this week has been found safe.
The Fairbanks Police Department announced Thursday morning that 15-year-old Hayden Lee Kietzman has been located and is safe.
Police had previously asked for the public’s help after Hayden left a residential treatment facility on Lathrop Street on the evening of June 22. Investigators believed she may have been spending time in the Hamilton Acres area.
In a brief update posted to social media, the department confirmed Hayden’s safe recovery and indicated the original missing-person notice would be removed.
No additional details about where Hayden was found or the circumstances surrounding her return were released.
The safe outcome brings a welcome conclusion to a case that prompted concern throughout the Fairbanks community and widespread sharing of Hayden’s information across social media.
Fairbanks police thanked the public for its attention to the case.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Fairbanks police are asking for the public’s help locating 15-year-old Hayden Lee Kietzman, who was reported missing Monday evening after leaving a residential treatment facility in Fairbanks.
According to the Fairbanks Police Department, staff at Family Centered Services of Alaska reported that Hayden left the facility on the 3100 block of Lathrop Street at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Monday, June 22.
Family Centered Services of Alaska operates a residential treatment program that provides a structured, supportive environment for Alaska youth facing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. The program offers counseling, education, life-skills development, and other services designed to help young people and their families navigate difficult circumstances.
Hayden was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and gray sweatpants. Police said she was not wearing shoes when she left.
While police have classified the case as a runaway, authorities emphasize that locating missing juveniles quickly is important for their safety and well-being.
Investigators believe Hayden may be in the Hamilton Acres neighborhood, where many of her friends live.
