The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has officially cleared the family of Nancy Guthrie as possible suspects in the ongoing investigation.

In a public statement, Sheriff Chris Nanos said the Guthrie family, including all siblings and spouses, has been fully cooperative throughout the investigation.

“To be clear … the Guthrie family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case,” Nanos said. “To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. Please, I’m begging the media to honor your profession and report with some sense of compassion and professionalism.”

The statement underscores that the family should not be subjected to speculation or unfounded rumors. Law enforcement has made it clear that the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests or named suspects have been announced.

Authorities continue to pursue leads in the case, and the public is encouraged to provide tips through official channels rather than relying on speculation.

The Guthrie family remains central to the community’s concern, but law enforcement emphasizes their status as victims in this case, not persons of interest.
