Heads up, drivers: This map shows the section of Settler’s Bay Drive closed for construction (red line) and the Bogle Bluff detour route keeping KGB access open from July 14 through August 4, 2026.

Plan ahead: KGB access detours through Bogle Bluff during roadwork.

If Settler’s Bay Drive is part of your daily route, it’s time to adjust your commute. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough announced a temporary road closure beginning next week as construction work moves forward in the area.

The closure runs Tuesday, July 14 through August 4, 2026. During that time, Settler’s Bay Drive will be closed to through traffic for construction activities.

Drivers needing access toward Knik-Goose Bay Road will be routed through Bogle Bluff. Detour signs will be posted throughout the area to help guide motorists.

Emergency vehicles will continue to have access during the closure.

The borough is reminding residents and commuters to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and watch for changing traffic patterns as crews work in the area.

It’s a little detour, not a dead end. Bogle Bluff will keep KGB access rolling while crews work. 🚧
