ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Anchorage police are asking for the public’s help in locating 71-year-old Keithy Mechol, who was reported missing on Saturday.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, Mechol was last seen near East 42nd Avenue and Florina Street around midnight on June 20, 2026.

Family members and officers are concerned for her well-being due to several medical and physical challenges. Police say Mechol is diabetic, blind in one eye, has difficulty walking, and speaks limited English, which may make it harder for her to seek assistance if she becomes lost or disoriented.
Mechol is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray top, black pants, and white shoes. She is also known to carry a small black-and-white purse.
Authorities are urging residents to keep an eye out for Mechol, check security cameras, and share her information with friends and neighbors. Even the smallest detail could help bring her home safely.
Anyone who has seen Keithy Mechol or has information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Dispatch by calling 311 and reference APD Case No. 26-0016408.
As family members wait for answers, the community’s awareness and assistance could make all the difference in helping reunite Keithy with her loved ones.
