💅 MEMAW’S ARCTIC ROLL: ELECTION DAY EDITION
Alaska, Your Vote Is Your Voice!
Memaw’s Arctic Roll for Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Good morning, sunshine! 💅🇺🇸 It’s Election Day, and Memaw has two things on her mind this morning: getting you where you need to go safely and reminding you that your voice deserves to be heard.
We’ve got clouds, some rain in the forecast, a healthy dose of northeast wind, and a northern lights forecast that isn’t exactly setting the sky on fire. But there’s something much more important on today’s agenda.
ALASKA, GET OUT AND VOTE!
Don’t let a cloudy morning, a busy schedule, or disappointment with the candidates keep you home. Your ballot is your opportunity to have a say in who makes decisions that affect your life, your family, your community, and your state.
And yes, even if you don’t particularly like your choices, sitting out doesn’t make your vote disappear. It simply leaves the decision to the people who do show up.

🟢🟡🔴 Daily Verdict: Windy Election Day, Wet Roads South
Roads: No widespread road closure has been established from the readable Alaska 511 feed. Check the live map before leaving. Coastal rain and gusty northeast winds deserve attention, particularly toward the Kenai Peninsula.

Sky: Mostly cloudy. Rain develops along the southern coastline. Northern lights activity is quiet, with a forecast Kp of 2.
Headlights: Morning darkness and an early sunset mean headlights are part of today’s commute. Sunset arrives before 5:00 p.m. across much of Southcentral.

🗳️ ELECTION DAY: ALASKA, MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT!

Today’s weather might make you want to stay home. Today’s politics might make you want to throw your hands in the air.
But don’t confuse frustration with powerlessness.
Alaska’s General Election is TODAY, Tuesday, November 3.
Here’s what voters need to know:
- Polls open: 7:00 a.m. Alaska time.
- Polls close: 8:00 p.m. Alaska time.
- Find your polling place: Use the official Alaska Division of Elections locator.
- Check your ballot: Review the candidates and ballot information before heading out.
- Results: The Division of Elections calendar says results are scheduled to begin appearing after 9:00 p.m.
A word about sitting out:
Maybe your preferred candidate isn’t on the ballot. Maybe you don’t like either choice in a particular race. Maybe you’re disappointed with the political process.
That’s your right.
But remember, your ballot isn’t necessarily about just one candidate. There are other races and decisions that deserve your attention.
Not voting isn’t literally casting a ballot for the other candidate. But it does mean surrendering your opportunity to influence the outcome. The people who show up make the decisions.
And that’s the point. Every eligible voter has an opportunity to participate. Don’t hand that opportunity away.
Politicians don’t own the power. The people do.

💅 Memaw’s Parting Words
Alaska, here’s your assignment today.
Get where you’re going safely. Keep an eye on those winds, watch the wet pavement, and don’t let the early darkness sneak up on you.
And somewhere between your morning coffee and supper, make time to vote.
You don’t have to love every candidate. You don’t have to agree with every politician. You don’t even have to be happy with the choices.
But you should care about what happens next.
Your vote is your voice. Your community is your stake. Your future is worth showing up for.
The politicians get their turn to talk. Today, Alaska gets its turn to decide.
Now get out there, make some memories, make your voice heard, and thank your poll workers! 💖🙏
