61-year-old Mathew Thomas Becker faces 1st-degree murder charge in Anchorage

Anchorage police confirmed this morning that 61-year-old Mathew Thomas Becker has been located. He was identified as a person of interest considered armed and dangerous. APD sent a text alert at 10:46 a.m.: “61-year-old Mathew Thomas Becker has been located. Thank you for your assistance.”
Charges Clarified
Prosecutors filed charges Friday in Superior Court (case 3AN-26). Charge #1: attempted first-degree murder under AS 11.41.100(a)(2) for repeat physical injury to a child, a domestic violence-related unclassified felony. Charge #2: third-degree assault under AS 11.41.220(a)(1)(A) for causing fear of injury with a weapon, a Class C felony. Both relate to Anchorage incidents on March 14. Bail will be addressed at arraignment per Magistrate Polley.
