🚨 BLACK ICE, REDHEADS & A HIGHWAY THAT MEANS BUSINESS!

Memaw’s Arctic Roll for Thursday, November 5, 2026

Good morning, Sugar! 💅❤️

It’s National Love Your Red Hair Day! ❤️ Today, we’re celebrating the fiery-haired folks who turn heads, the famous redheads who know how to make an entrance, and everyone who appreciates a little red-haired flair. But this morning, there’s something on the road that deserves far more attention than any hairdo.

Alaska 511 is reporting DIFFICULT driving conditions on the Seward Highway between Mileposts 67 and 75, with black ice and an ice glaze on the pavement. That’s not a minor inconvenience. That’s a serious warning, and drivers need to take it seriously.

Elsewhere, Wasilla and Anchorage are looking at highs near 40°F, the Kenai Peninsula has a freezing-rain concern, and freezing fog could make an appearance tonight. The northern lights are on the guest list, too, but they’re not making any promises.

So, happy National Love Your Red Hair Day to all our redheads! The rest of us can celebrate from the sidelines. Grab your coffee, buckle up, watch those slick spots, and let’s get the 411 on the 511! 🚗💨

☕️ Memaw’s Parting Words

To all my gorgeous redheads, today is YOUR day! ❤️ Whether those fiery locks came from your family tree or a bottle, wear them proudly. You’re rare, you’re remarkable, and you certainly don’t need permission to stand out! Just ask Pippi!

Memaw’s favorite book and one unforgettable redhead! ❤️ Pippi Longstocking taught generations of readers that being different, daring, and delightfully independent is something to celebrate. A little mischief never hurt, either! Source: Biblio.com

But today’s road report has one message that deserves to outshine even the brightest red hair: Black ice doesn’t care how beautiful the sunshine looks.

The Seward Highway has a difficult stretch between MP 67 and MP 75. Kenai has a freezing-rain concern, and freezing fog could sneak into several communities tonight.

So, be smart, slow down, leave room, and don’t let a little sunshine fool you into thinking winter has packed its bags.

Memaw wants you home in one piece, with your hairdo intact and your vehicle still pointing in the right direction!

Until tomorrow, keep those wheels turning, those headlights shining, and those red locks rocking! 💅🚗💨❤️
