By Gina Hill | Alaska Headline Living | February 2026

Widespread snowfall continues across Southcentral Alaska today, Wednesday, with Winter Weather Advisories in effect for the western Kenai Peninsula and Turnagain Pass, the Susitna Valley, Paxson, and Thompson Pass. Anchorage and the Matanuska Valley are expected to see around 2 to 4 inches of snow by the time conditions taper off. 👵 Memaw’s Parting Words

Darlin’, this is not the day to prove anything to anybody on the road. Leave early. Keep your tank above half. Let the hurried folks go around you. Winter travel rewards calm drivers, not fast ones. And if the clouds part tonight, step outside for a minute. Even a faint ribbon of green is a reminder that Alaska still knows how to show off. 💚
