A 13-year-old Anchorage girl has been missing for nearly a week, and APD is asking the public to help bring her home safely.
There is a photograph of Cassandra Larson-Shugak that matters right now.
Not because she is a case number.
Not because she is a name on a missing-person alert.
Because she is 13 years old, and someone may have seen her.
The Anchorage Police Department is asking the public for help locating Cassandra, who was last seen September 11 near the 1400 block of W. 25th Avenue in Anchorage. APD issued its public request for assistance September 17.

The map is provided for general geographic context and does not indicate Cassandra’s exact location or a confirmed route.
Cassandra is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and approximately 115 pounds, with black hair that has a reddish-brown color.
When she was last seen, APD said she was wearing black leggings and a black sweater with “My Kings” on the front, with a crown over the “K.” APD’s posted photograph shows Cassandra wearing the dark sweater, which may help people recognize her.
Please Look. Please Share.
This is one of those moments when a simple share can matter.
Someone scrolling through Facebook might recognize Cassandra.
Someone who lives near where she was last seen might remember seeing a young girl matching her description.
Someone who has not heard about the search yet may see this article because you shared it.
That is why please share this article is more than a social-media request.
The more people who see Cassandra’s face and know what she was wearing, the greater the chance that someone with useful information recognizes something and contacts police.
And please don’t assume someone else has already called.
