Memaw’s Arctic Roll: Little Miss Muffet Hated Tailgaters 💅

Jack Be Nimble, Traffic Be Slow 💅

☕️ Good morning, sugar! It’s National Mother Goose Day, and Memaw is giving a proper nod to the queen of nursery rhymes who managed to teach lessons, warnings, and add little humor to generations without ever leaving the page. Jack and Jill, Humpty Dumpty, Hickory Dickory Dock, all those little stories still echo in the background of childhood memory whether we realize it or not. So today she gets her flowers, 💐and Memaw takes the wheel on what those lessons look like in real life: Patience, timing, and paying attention on the road. 🚘

A 19th-century chapbook page from McGill University’s collection featuring the opening verse of “Old Mother Goose and the Golden Egg.” The text depicts Mother Goose riding “through air on a very fine gander,” a whimsical retelling inspired by the 1806 pantomime Harlequin and Mother Goose, or The Golden Egg. Published anonymously in the 1860s or later, it reflects the enduring folklore tradition that shaped the Mother Goose nursery rhyme canon.

🟢🟡🔴 Daily Verdict: Mostly Easy Cruise with Construction Mischief and a Possible Night Sky Wink
Roads: Generally fair driving weather, dry to damp in many corridors, but active work zones matter.
Traffic: Glenn Highway choke points remain the headline item.
Sky: If clouds break tonight, northern lights remain possible at Alaska latitudes with modest geomagnetic activity.

💅 Memaw’s Parting Words

🪿If nursery rhymes taught driving, Humpty Dumpty would still be waiting for roadside assistance. Probably still in pieces, still arguing about whose fault it was, and still blocking traffic while everyone else tries to get around him. Don’t be Humpty. Stay sharp out there today, pay attention early, keep your spacing right, and don’t let a preventable mistake turn into a full stop. And later, when the day winds down, Memaw will hum you out with her own little rhyme: Drive Alive from Dawn to Night. 💖

Spring roads are open and Memaw’s got the soundtrack. 💅🚗 From the Parks to the Kenai and everywhere in between, drive alive from dawn to night with Memaw.

Thunderbird Falls Twin Peaks | Alaska 511 | A 511 camera view along the Glenn Highway near Thunderbird Falls captures a clear look toward the Twin Peaks area of the Chugach Mountains. In the distance, West Twin Peak rises on the left and East Twin Peak on the right, their snow-dusted summits framing the skyline. Foreground ridgelines show the lower Chugach foothills stretching between the highway corridor and the Eklutna basin, a layered transition from roadway to alpine terrain under Southcentral Alaska’s wide spring sky.
