Anchorage, AK – The American Cancer Societyâs Making Strides Against Breast Cancer movement is underway, and the Anchorage community is coming together in powerful ways.
On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Anchorage Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will be held at Delaney Park Strip (West End), starting at 11:00 AM AKDT. The event is free to register as an individual or as a team. Anchorage Chamber of Commerce
Whatâs New & What to Be Excited About
- Season Kick-Off: The local Anchorage group has officially kicked off the 2025 season. There was an enthusiastic community gathering (âCocktails for a Cureâ-style event) to launch things.Facebook
- Pink the Rink: A recent community event raised $2,451 for ACS. Itâs a concrete example of how fun, local actions are already making an impact. Instagram

Why Get Involved
- This is more than a walk. Itâs about community, hope, honoring survivors, supporting caregivers, and pushing forward research and resources to reduce breast cancer risk, detection delays, and treatment burdens.
- When you volunteer or fundraise, you’re helping with free support services for those going through treatment (lodging, transportation, emotional support) through the American Cancer Society. American Cancer Society
