The Federal Bureau of Investigation is increasing the reward to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

The FBI Phoenix Field Office announced the increase Thursday in a public post on X, stating: “Today, the FBI is increasing its reward up to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.” The announcement included new suspect details confirmed through forensic analysis by the FBI’s Operational Technology Division.

The FBI Phoenix social media post and updated wanted materials serve as the primary source of the reward increase. Major national outlets including Reuters, People, and Variety have attributed the $100,000 figure directly to the FBI Phoenix announcement. No standalone press release page was issued on FBI.gov. Instead, the reward increase was communicated through the bureau’s official social media channels and updated case poster.

Hoax Ransom Case Linked to Guthrie Investigation

The reward increase comes as federal prosecutors charge a California man with sending fake ransom demands to Guthrie’s family.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona, 42 year old Derrick Callella of Hawthorne made an initial appearance in Tucson on February 12. He is accused of sending two ransom text messages and making a brief phone call on February 4 in an attempt to exploit the case.

The complaint references a missing woman identified as “N.G.” and outlines details that match the Guthrie investigation, including reports of blood found at her home and a Bitcoin demand sent to a Tucson television station.
