A powerful windstorm tore through the Matanuska Valley, snapping a cell tower in half in Palmer and leaving residents stunned by the damage.

The tower, located on E. Jim Cottrell Circle off Old Trunk Road, was photographed late Tuesday afternoon after strong winds swept through the area. The image shows the structure buckled and broken, a striking example of the force behind the storm that has caused widespread impacts across the region.

As of now, no official statements have been released by the cell carrier, the City of Palmer, or Palmer police regarding the damage, possible service disruptions, or repair timelines. Authorities have not reported any injuries connected to the incident.

High wind conditions have affected much of Southcentral Alaska in recent days, prompting closures, power outages, and safety advisories. Residents are urged to remain cautious around damaged infrastructure and to report hazards to local authorities.
