đ  MEMAWâS ARCTIC ROLL: SUNSHINE, SHOWERS & A SIDE OF DEVILED EGGS!
Memaw’s Arctic Roll for Monday, November 2, 2026.
âď¸ THE SUN IS UP FOR EIGHT HOURS. MAKE EVERY MINUTE COUNT!
âď¸ Good Monday morning, sugar! đ đđ¨
Rise, shine, and find those headlights, because Mother Nature is giving Southcentral a little sunshine before the clouds start moving back in! Wasilla is looking at a sunny day near 40°F, Anchorage should reach 38°F, and the Kenai Peninsula gets a warmer afternoon. But don’t let those daytime temperatures fool you. We’re still flirting with freezing, and wet pavement, shaded stretches, and changing conditions deserve your attention.
And there’s another reason to celebrate: It’s National Deviled Egg Day! đĽ Memaw is bringing a little family-recipe magic to today’s parting words, with a secret splash that makes her deviled eggs something special. Just in time for Thanksgiving and the holiday get-togethers!
Now buckle up, buttercups. Memaw has the 411 on the 511! đ
đŚ Daily Verdict: Sunshine First, Clouds Later
đ˘
- Roads: No major closure or incident independently confirmed from the accessible Alaska 511 map data. Check the live map before departure.
- Traffic: Allow extra room on potentially damp or slick pavement. Watch for changing conditions on the highway corridors.
- Sky: Mostly sunny around Anchorage and Wasilla today. Clouds increase tonight, with rain expected farther south.
- Headlights: Daylight is getting scarce! Sunrise runs from 8:22 to 8:33 AM, and sunset comes between 4:50 and 5:08 PM. That’s barely 8½ hours of daylight. Turn those headlights on early and give yourself plenty of time to get home before darkness settles in. đ đđ¨

đĽ Memaw’s Parting Words
Well, sugar, Monday is bringing us sunshine in some neighborhoods, rain in others, and another reminder that winter driving season doesn’t wait for the calendar to catch up!
Keep those headlights clean, leave yourself some stopping room, and don’t let a pretty afternoon fool you into forgetting what happens when the sun goes down.
And before I go, today’s celebration deserves something special. It’s National Deviled Egg Day, and Memaw is sharing a little family magic!
đ Memaw’s Secret-Splash Deviled Eggs

Family recipe | Holiday favorite
Creamy, comforting, and finished with paprika, these little beauties have one secret ingredient: Worcestershire sauce!
Yield: 12 deviled egg halves
Ingredients
- 6 large hard-boiled eggs, peeled
- Âź cup mayonnaise
- ½ teaspoon ground mustard
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Paprika, for garnish
- Fresh chives, cut into short pieces (optional)
Directions
- Slice the eggs lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and arrange the whites on a serving platter.
- Mash the yolks thoroughly with a fork.
- Add mayonnaise, ground mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper. Add a little extra mayonnaise if you prefer a softer filling.
- Spoon or pipe the filling evenly into the 12 egg halves.
- Dust lightly with paprika.
Memaw’s Special Touch
Cross two small pieces of fresh chive over each mound of filling. It’s Memaw’s little finishing touch, like sealing each egg with a kiss!
Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
There you have it! A little Worcestershire in the filling, a little chive on top, and a whole lot of love.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and the holidays won’t be far behind. Put this one in your recipe box. Your family might just ask you to bring them every year!
Until next time, Alaska, keep your eyes on the road, your hands on the wheel, and your deviled eggs away from the hungry relatives until it’s time to serve!
Memaw loves you, but she isn’t sharing her last deviled egg! đ đĽâ¨
