APD, Fish and Game using drone to locate nuisance bear
A brown bear has police and Alaska Department of Fish and Game officers searching Tuesday morning near Sabine Street and E. 142nd Avenue in Anchorage.
The Anchorage Police Department says officers are assisting Fish and Game with locating a nuisance brown bear in the area. A drone is being used as part of the search.
APD has not released additional details about what prompted the nuisance-bear designation or whether anyone has been injured.
For now, residents in the area should stay alert, keep their distance from the bear and give officers and Fish and Game personnel room to work.
If you see the bear, don’t approach it. Let Fish and Game handle the situation.
