🛻💨 Glenn Delays & Seward Work Zone Headaches

Memaw’s Arctic Roll for Tuesday, May 26, 2026

💅 Well now the highways decided they wanted attention today too. The Glenn’s out here squeezing commuters through narrow bridge lanes like toothpaste, while the Sterling’s got flaggers, pilot cars, and utility crews staging a full roadside production. Add damp pavement and distracted holiday-week drivers, and suddenly “quick trip” energy disappears real fast.

🟢🟡🔴 Daily Verdict: Mostly Manageable with Construction Choke Points
Roads: Wet pavement in spots, plus active work zones on the Glenn and Sterling.
Traffic: Expect slowdowns during lane shifts and pilot car operations.
Sky: Mostly cloudy tonight with only slim northern lights potential.

💅 Memaw’s Parting Words
Listen baby, construction season in Alaska is basically winter with orange cones instead of snowbanks. The Glenn wants patience, the Sterling wants obedience, and both highways will absolutely humble anybody driving like they’re starring in an action movie. And if yesterday taught folks anything, it’s this: one bad collision can shut the Seward Highway down for hours. APD closed the highway near Mile 80 from 4:07 p.m. until 11:23 p.m. on Memorial Day after a serious crash. That’s not a “minor delay,” that’s your entire evening evaporating in brake lights and frustration. Slow down, leave space, and drive like you’d rather make it home than make the evening news.

Enjoy the sunshine if you’re lucky and remember, sugar. Drive alive from dawn to night 🎶

Spring roads are open and Memaw’s got the soundtrack. 💅🚗 From the Parks to the Kenai and everywhere in between, drive alive from dawn to night with Memaw.
