Summer is officially clocking in for duty in the Mat-Su Valley this weekend, and Wasilla residents are invited to celebrate with live music, local food, and a full afternoon of community fun at Music in the Park.

Hosted at Iditapark on Saturday, May 30, the free event promises six straight hours of music, vendors, food trucks, and family-friendly entertainment right in the heart of town.
The lineup features live performances from local favorites “I Like Robots” and “Raised by Elephants,” bringing everything from upbeat rock energy to laid-back summer sounds as residents spread out in the park’s covered seating areas and soak up the season.

Organizers say the goal is simple: give the community a place to gather, relax, and enjoy a true Alaska summer kickoff together.
Families can wander through local vendor booths, grab dinner from food trucks, dance in the sunshine, or simply enjoy an easygoing evening outdoors with neighbors and friends. Admission is completely free, making it one of the more accessible weekend events for locals looking to get out of the house without emptying their wallets.

Music in the Park runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.
More information and the full event lineup are available at Music in the Park Wasilla.
