☔️ Heavy Rain Triggers Widespread Power Outages Across Matanuska-Susitna Valley
Heavy rain and generally miserable weather are knocking out power across the Matanuska Electric Association service territory Monday morning, leaving more than 800 members without electricity as crews work to restore service.
MEA reported 1,456 members without power at 6:05 a.m. The largest outages were in Willow, Eagle River Road, Hatcher Pass and Meadow Lakes.
By 7:55 a.m., crews had restored power along Eagle River Road after removing a tree from power lines. Earlier, power was also restored in Willow, bringing the number of members without electricity down to 867.
MEA said crews remain assigned to outages across the service territory, including areas around Hatcher Pass and Meadow Lakes.
The utility is consolidating outage updates into a single post as crews continue responding to the weather-related disruptions.
