🚙💨 Parks Highway

Parks Hwy & Big Lake Rd | Alaska 511 | Kids get their own fishing hole at the Mat-Su Outdoorsman Show 🎣, a pint-sized trout pond stocked with 2,000 rainbow trout where children under 15 fish free. Built in partnership with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the William Jack Hernandez Fish Hatchery, this hands-on spot lets kids catch and keep or release one fish while learning the ropes.
You’ll find the pond outside near the food trucks, boats, and camper displays, running April 17–19, 2026:
Saturday: 10 AM–6 PM
Sunday: 10 AM–5 PM
Right in the heart of the Mat-Su Valley, it’s a small pond with big smiles. Proof that Alaska’s outdoor spirit starts early.

Memaw’s Parting Words 💅

Baby, today is one of those Alaska days that doesn’t ask permission. It just changes the rules every 10 miles. On the Sterling Highway, it’s a split personality drive. Rain and gray near the Russian River Ferry, then sudden sunshine up by the Ninilchik River Bridge. Same road. Different worlds.

And that fits the vibe at the Mat-Su Outdoorsman Show. Kids fishing in a stocked trout pond while families trade stories outside about boats, campers, and whatever the drive threw at them.

Tonight might be worth stepping outside. If the sky cracks open, don’t overthink it, just look up., Don’t talk yourself out of it. A Kp 6 over Southcentral is worth stepping out onto the porch.

Spring roads are open and Memaw’s got the soundtrack. 💅🚗 From the Parks to the Glenn and everywhere in between, drive alive from dawn to night with Memaw.
