What’s Up, Alaska?

Events Worth Leaving the House For

By Gina Hill | Alaska Headline Living

Alaska does not do boring, and it definitely does not do “nothing going on.” But, it does sometimes do “FREE”! One scroll and you are already looking at flower classes, comedy nights, local markets, and zoo fundraisers all stacked up and fighting for your attention. This is your running list of things worth showing up to, laughing at, learning something from, or just getting out of the house.

TODAY | Wednesday, April 29 | 5:30PM
🌸 FREE Flower Bed Class at Ken’s Garden Center (Wasilla)
4121 Dimond Way, Wasilla, AK 99654

Spring is officially showing off, and Ken’s Garden Center is here to help you match the energy. Flower Bed Class helping Alaskans turn “I hope this grows” into a yard that actually blooms. Photo courtesy of Ken’s Garden Center.

If your yard looks like “plants vs survival mode,” this is your fix.

What’s happening:

  • What actually survives in Alaska soil and weather
  • Where to plant (front, middle, back without guessing)
  • Sun vs shade made simple
  • How to make your yard look full, not chaotic

Why go:
Most people waste money on plants that quit in a week, or won’t survive next winter. This class helps you stop doing that.

Bonus: Ask questions, get real answers, leave with a plan you can actually use.
Free. Just show up or RSVP: (907) 982-9804.
