A death investigation is underway after Anchorage Police identified the woman found deceased on April 20, 2026, in the 3500 block of Lois Drive as 19-year-old Kelly Hunt. She had been reported missing in January, and next-of-kin notifications have been completed.

According to APD, Hunt arrived in Anchorage on January 6, 2026, and was staying at a residence in the 3200 block of Oregon Drive in Spenard. She left that residence on the morning of January 7, 2026, and was reported missing on January 11, 2026. Her case was assigned to detectives for follow-up investigation.
Police responded to the Lois Drive location at approximately 8:56 a.m. on April 20 after a report of a person found deceased outdoors. The APD Crime Scene Team processed the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death. No arrests have been made.

At this time, Anchorage Police have not released a cause of death and have not identified any suspects or persons of interest. Investigators continue to work through the timeline between Hunt’s last confirmed contact on January 7 and the discovery of her remains more than three months later.
Authorities are also working to determine whether the Lois Drive location is the place where Hunt died or whether she was moved there after death, a key question that remains unresolved pending forensic findings.

For family members and the public, the investigation now hinges on the Medical Examiner’s report, continued forensic analysis, and any additional witness or digital evidence that may help clarify what happened during the missing months.
