Original Post: Anchorage police are urgently asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 13-year-old boy, Takao Dobbs-Carter, who was last seen early this morning and is considered highly vulnerable.
He is described as approximately 4’10” tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities say Takao is non-verbal and has limited cognitive abilities, which increases concern for his safety and ability to communicate or seek help on his own.
Takao was reported missing at about 4:00 a.m. on April 29, 2026. He was last seen in the area of E 73rd Avenue and Basel Street in Anchorage.

This is a deeply urgent situation. Children with communication barriers and developmental disabilities can be especially at risk when separated from caregivers, and time is critical.
What the Community Can Do Right Now
Anyone in the Anchorage area is urged to check security cameras, doorbell footage, garages, sheds, yards, and vehicles from the early morning hours. Even a brief sighting or movement on video could be important.
If you are driving or walking in the area, please stay alert and look for a young boy matching his description, especially near residential streets, parks, bus stops, and sheltered areas.
Do not assume someone else has already reported information. Even small details matter.
Report What You Know
If you see Takao or know anything that could help locate him, contact:
Anchorage Police Department Dispatch at 3-1-1
Case number: 26-11760
Authorities emphasize that tips can be reported anonymously.
A Community Call for Urgency
Right now, this is about speed, awareness, and compassion. Takao is a child who may not be able to ask for help or explain where he is. The faster information spreads, the better the chances of bringing him home safely.
If you can share this alert with neighbors, community groups, or local social media pages, it could make a real difference.
