As Child Abuse Prevention Month continues, Anchorage Police are asking the public to come forward in a sexual abuse investigation involving an 87-year-old suspect.

On April 10, 2026, a grand jury indicted James Williams on two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the Second Degree following a months-long investigation by the Anchorage Police Department Crimes Against Children Unit. Allegations involve incidents reported in both Anchorage and Klawock.

Williams was arrested on April 13 in Klawock, a small Southeast Alaska community on Prince of Wales Island with roughly 700 to 800 residents, where investigators say there may be people who have additional information or who have not yet come forward.

Police believe there may be additional victims.

Anyone with information or who believes they may have been harmed is asked to contact Detective Koch at Daniel.Koch@anchorageak.gov or 907-786-2477.
