Alaska, your weekend calendar has officially entered maximum fun mode. We’ve got fairs, festivals, Highland Games, runners, farmers markets, a wilderness cruise, community gatherings and enough food-related activities to make your stretchy pants feel very validated.

🎪 Deltana Fair & Music Festival
August 14–16 | Deltana Fairgrounds
Three days of fair fun, plus the Delta Frontier Rodeo and Play Days.
Friday features the Pet Parade from 1–2 PM, led by Emmi, Mini Healing Hoofbeats Delta’s support mini horse. Sunday brings Smoke, Spice & Sizzle Sunday, with a BBQ Competition and Kids’ Chili Cook-Off at 1 PM and a Hot Ones-inspired Wings Challenge from 3–4 PM.

🐷 Kenai Peninsula Fair
August 14–16 | Kenai Peninsula State Fairgrounds, Ninilchik
Party till the pigs come home! 🐷
Enjoy free admission, food, family fun, horse rides, rodeo action, pig races, pie-eating contests and a Battle of the Bands.

🚔 Nome Police Department Night Out
August 14 | 5–8 PM | Rec Center, Nome
Come grab some food, hang out and spend the evening with the Nome community and NPD.
Because community gatherings are even better when dinner is involved. 👮🍽️
🏃 Anchorage RunFest
August 15–16 | Anchorage
Lace up! Anchorage RunFest returns with the United Physical Therapy 49K Ultra, Humpy’s Marathon and Relay, Half Marathon, 5K and Kids’ events.
On August 16, On Pace Race pacers will be available for the marathon and half marathon, including several goal times plus sweepers.

🏴 Midnight Sun Scottish Highland Games
August 15 | Musher’s Hall
The 2026 Gathering O’ The Clans brings together Clan MacLeod, Clan Donald, Clan Wallace, House of Gordon, Clan MacThomas, Clan Gunn, Clan Lindsay and Clan Céile Dé.
Find your tartan, meet the clans, learn some history and bring the family.
Kilts encouraged. Dramatic clan introductions optional. 😂
🎤 Alaska Hmong Harvest Festival
August 15–16 | Sullivan Arena
Celebrate Alaska’s Hmong community with this two-day event. Performers are also invited to sign up and take the stage.

🛳️ Tongass Wilderness Cruise
August 15 | Boarding 4:45 PM, departure 5 PM | Crescent Harbor, Sitka
Spend Saturday evening exploring the Tongass Wilderness with Sitka Conservation Society Director Andrew Thoms, discovering its landscapes, stories and stewardship.
Returns around 8 PM.
