Bill and Hillary Clinton say they will testify before the House Oversight Committee in the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, according to a post from former President Clinton’s spokesperson, Angel Ureña. “They look forward to setting a precedent that applies to everyone,” Ureña wrote on X, adding they had already shared what they know under oath.

The announcement is a major shift. Earlier, the Clintons had refused to appear, calling the subpoenas “legally invalid” and offering written statements or alternative formats instead. The Republican-led committee, led by Chairman James Comer, rejected those offers and advanced contempt-of-Congress resolutions against both.

So far, the committee has not officially confirmed whether it will accept the Clintons’ testimony on their proposed terms. What’s clear: the former first couple plans to appear, but whether that ends the legal showdown remains to be seen.
