Southcentral is running wet, cool, and steady with rain and drizzle moving through the region. Pavement is slick in spots, visibility drops in pockets, and the entire system is being interrupted by active construction zones across the Glenn, Seward, and Sterling corridors. This is not a shutdown day, but it is absolutely a “pay attention or pay time” commute.

This is a wet-road patience day, not a speed day. You’ve got enough going on with construction zones, bridge restrictions, pilot cars, rails, and concrete barriers without adding bad decisions to the mix. Keep your distance, respect the setup, and let the crews do their job.

Don’t improvise your own lane through a construction zone. Even if it feels like you could “make your own lane,” don’t. The barriers already made that decision for you.

Captured on Alaska 511 before 6:00 AM along the Russian River corridor off the Sterling Highway. Early-morning anglers are already in position while most of Southcentral is still half-asleep. Cool air, quiet water, and that pre-sunrise low light that makes the whole scene feel paused, except for the people who clearly didn’t hit snooze.
