WASILLA, Alaska – Neighbors, families, and community members are invited to come together this Friday, April 3, for the Go Blue Rally, a special event focused on raising awareness for child abuse prevention. Hosted by The Children’s Place, the rally will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Newcomb Park, located at the corner of Parks Highway and Crusey Street in Wasilla.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time dedicated to shining a light on the importance of protecting children and supporting families. Events like the Go Blue Rally give the community a chance to show up for kids, spread awareness, and spark conversations about keeping children safe. Organizers encourage attendees to wear blue as a symbol of unity and hope, and to bring signs if they wish to share messages of encouragement or kindness.

“This event is about building community and standing together for children,” said organizers at The Children’s Place. “It’s not a protest, but a welcoming gathering where everyone can take part in supporting families and learning how to make a difference locally.”

🌀 Blue for every child! Come together to raise protection, awareness and hope. 🌀

The rally is family‑friendly and designed to foster connection. Visitors can meet local advocates, learn about resources for children and families, and see firsthand how small acts of awareness and support can have a big impact.

Those interested in attending can find more information and updates on the official Facebook page for the rally.

Attendees are advised to dress for the weather and wear something blue to show solidarity. Bringing water, sunscreen, or a warm layer depending on the spring forecast is recommended. And, bring your signs!

The Go Blue Rally invites everyone to take part in a community moment of hope, support, and visibility for children and families in Wasilla.

Blue for hope, blue for safety, blue for every child.
