TUCSON, Arizona – Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos delivered a critical update Tuesday morning on the disappearance of 84‑year‑old Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, saying investigators now believe she was abducted and urging the public to help.

Sheriff Nanos said that Nancy Guthrie requires daily medication and that investigators believe a crime occurred at her home in Catalina Foothills. Blood and signs of forced entry were found at the residence, leading officials to treat it as a crime scene.
