Good morning, sweetheart!
Before we even talk highways, remember what today is: National Reconciliation Day. It’s the one day of the year that gently nudges us to set pride aside and mend something that broke along the way. A friendship, a sibling spat, an old misunderstanding. Somebody’s got to take the first step. Might as well be you. 🫵💖

Now let’s roll. 🏎️💨
Southcentral Alaska wakes up under clear skies and spring suns∫hine, and after a long stretch of stubborn cold, temperatures are finally leaning toward something friendlier. The National Weather Service forecast for Anchorage calls for sunshine with a high near 35°F today, which means the sun will soften some surfaces and help stabilize the main highways.
Alaska 511 reports no major corridor closures this morning, so the Parks, Glenn, Seward, Sterling, and Knik Goose Bay routes are all running normally. Just remember: when temperatures hover near freezing, that melt-refreeze dance can still create slick patches.
🟢🟡🔴 Daily Verdict: Smooth Spring Commute with a Sunshine Boost ☀️
Roads: Mostly clear winter pavement with occasional refreeze patches
Traffic: Light with no major 511 alerts reported
Sky: Sunny today, decent chance to spot aurora tonight if clouds stay away

Memaw’s Parting Words
💅 Listen here, honey.
Life’s roads get icy sometimes. Words slip. Pride digs in. People drift apart.
That’s exactly why National Reconciliation Day exists. 🤗💖
If there’s someone you miss, someone you argued with, or someone you simply stopped talking to, today might be the perfect day to thaw that ice. Make the call. Send the message. Accept the olive branch if it comes your way.
If they’re not ready to take that olive branch, leave it on the porch. Sometimes folks just need a little time. Grace offered is never wasted and you showed up with a good heart. 💝
🌅 Then tonight, step outside under that big Alaska sky. If the northern lights show up, take it as a reminder that even the darkest nights can still paint something beautiful. 🤩
