The Anchorage Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 43-year-old man who has been reported missing and may be vulnerable.
According to police, Phokham Khamnivong was reported missing on February 18, 2026. He was last seen three days earlier, on February 15, near the 4400 block of Parsons Avenue.
Authorities say there is concern for his wellbeing due to a mental illness. Police also noted that Khamnivong does not speak fluent English, which may make it difficult for him to seek help or communicate with others.
Khamnivong is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and approximately 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and black Nike shoes. He was also reportedly wearing what was described as a towel or sheet necklace. Police say he has tattoos on both arms and his back, though specific details are unknown.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Anchorage Police Dispatch at 3-1-1 and reference case number 26-5171. Those wishing to remain anonymous can submit tips through Crime Stoppers online at AnchorageCrimeStoppers.com.
Police remind the public that in order to clear a person from missing status, officers must be notified that the individual has been located and must confirm that in person.
