Wildlife Troopers Help Feed Alaska Communities with Moose Meat Donations

Earlier this month, Alaska Wildlife Troopers assisted the Petersburg Food Bank in distributing more than 1,200 pounds of moose meat to local nonprofits. The meat comes from illegally taken moose and is processed, stored, and donated through the Burger Bank Program once cases are adjudicated.
In addition to the nonprofit donations, 250 pounds of burger meat were handed out directly to locals who lined up in the snow. Alaska Wildlife Troopers said they are proud to take part in programs that benefit the communities they serve.
