There is welcome news out of Anchorage today. The Anchorage Police Department has announced that 28-year-old Sierra Daunning, who was reported missing earlier this month, has been located.
APD issued the update Tuesday morning, canceling the missing person alert and thanking the public for its help. Daunning was last seen on New Year’s Day near Muldoon Road and East 5th Avenue, prompting concern from family, friends, and the broader community.
Police did not release additional details, but confirmed that the case has been closed. In its update, APD expressed appreciation for the community response, noting the role shared information and public awareness played in bringing the situation to a close.
For those who shared posts, checked cameras, and kept an eye out, the message today is simple and hopeful. Sierra has been found, and that is what matters.
APD Case: 26-204
