Help Bring Alyssa Evans Home Safely
Alyssa Evans, 15, has been missing from Anchorage since August 31, 2026. Authorities say she may have traveled to Bethel, Alaska. She has multiple piercings.
The Anchorage Police Department is asking for help locating Alyssa. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators.
Missing Alaska Native Women and Girls: The Numbers
Alyssa’s case comes amid a broader concern involving missing Indigenous people. According to the FBI,Ā 10,248 missing-person entries involving American Indian and Alaska Native people were recorded nationwide in 2024.Ā Of those entries, 5,614 involved females, including 4,179 involving girls under age 18.
These are reports, not necessarily unique individuals, because one person may be reported missing more than once. The U.S. Department of the Interior reported approximately 1,485 active missing-person records for American Indian and Alaska Native people nationwide as of June 30, 2026.
In Alaska, the Department of Public Safety says environmental factors are believed to play a role in more than 75% of missing-person cases involving Alaska Native or American Indian people. These figures cover broader populations and circumstances; they are not counts of Alaska Native girls alone.
