🌅 Looks Like Spring. Drives Like Winter. Welcome to Alaska!

💅Well now, sugar. It’s not just Southcentral doing its usual April switch-up today, it’s also National Siblings Day. Which feels about right for Alaska, honestly. One minute things are calm and cooperative, the next somebody is reminding you of every mistake you made in 2003. Just like siblings, these roads can love you and betray you in the same 10-minute stretch. So whether you’re the responsible one or the one still hearing about “that time you slid through an intersection,” today is for all of us.

💖 Memaw’s grandkids, Cyrus, Zachary, and Madison, at Pyrah’s Pioneer Peak Farm in Palmer, getting their hands in the dirt and learning where real food comes from, while making strong sibling memories that will last long after the harvest. | Alaska Headline Living ©

And speaking of unpredictable relationships … that’s basically what today’s commute is serving up too.

🟢🟡🔴 Daily Verdict: Mostly Easy Roll with Hidden Slick Spots
Roads: Generally clear and plowed, but shaded refreeze zones and early morning ice remain
Traffic: Light across Southcentral with no major Alaska 511 incidents reported
Sky: Increasing clouds tonight, but breaks could still reveal northern lights activity

💅 Memaw’s Parting Words

We’re gaining daylight every single day now, but don’t let that fool you into thinking winter’s done talking. Mornings can still bite, evenings can still slick up, and the road doesn’t care how bright it looks. Drive alive, not lucky, and give yourself the space to make it home the same way you left.

And, if you’ve got siblings go ahead and text them something nice today. Or something honest. Same thing sometimes. Either way, don’t let old rivalries follow you onto an ice patch. And if those clouds crack tonight, you might just catch a little reward for paying attention. 🌌

💖 Drive alive, not lucky, and give yourself the space to make it home the same way you left.

Spring roads are open and Memaw’s got the soundtrack. 💅🚗 From the Parks to the Glenn and everywhere in between, drive alive from dawn to night with Memaw.
