Memaw tried to tell you this morning, and now Anchorage Police are backing her up. This evening drive is about timing, traction, and not letting your car get ideas of its own. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect starting at 6 PM for much of Anchorage, Eagle River, the Mat Valley, and nearby areas including 4 miles SSW of Meadow Lakes. Mixed precipitation, gusty winds, ponding water, and a fast freeze later tonight are all on the menu. Supper is optional. Caution is not.
🚨 Advisory Emphasis
Winter Weather Advisory from 6 PM tonight through Friday evening. Expect snow, ice, rain, wind gusts up to 50 mph, ponding water, hydroplaning risk, then a rapid refreeze. This will hit the evening commute first and hardest.
