Anchorage, Alaska – The Anchorage Police Department (APD) is actively monitoring and implementing security measures in response to a cybersecurity incident involving a third-party service provider that supports multiple agencies nationwide.
APD was notified of the incident on January 7, 2026, during preparations for an internal software upgrade. At this time, there is no evidence that APD systems were compromised or that any department data was accessed by the threat actor. As a precaution, APD continues to closely monitor its systems and apply additional safeguards.
Key actions have included:
- Notifying employees and advising vigilance against suspicious activity.

- Removing all APD data from the third-party provider’s servers.
