We don’t have snakes. We don’t have snakes. We don’t have snakes. Snow? Bring it on 🥶💛 | Alaska Headline Living ©️

If you thought today’s snow was a one-time event, think again. Mother Nature isn’t done yet. The U.S. National Weather Service in Anchorage is forecasting additional snowfall tonight through Sunday morning across Southcentral Alaska. That means everything you shoveled, brushed, or cursed at today could very well need a second round of attention.

Anchorage, the Mat-Su Valley, and Prince William Sound remain under a Winter Weather Advisory. This means the snow may be heavy enough to slow traffic, make your morning coffee extra cold if you leave the house, and provide ample opportunities for impromptu snowball fights. Seward is in the more serious camp with a Winter Storm Warning, so residents should consider hunkering down and possibly investing in a small snowplow, sled, or an army of helpful neighbors.
The forecasted snowfall amounts are on top of what already fell today. So yes, your driveway is going to look like the North Pole again. Roads may get slick and treacherous, so if you’re venturing out, channel your inner cautious driver and maybe leave ten extra minutes for that commute.
On the bright side, this is perfect snow for snowmen, snow angels, or for the very serious sport of “how many times can I curse at the snow before breakfast.” And if you’re a fan of winter scenery, grab your camera. Nothing says Alaskan beauty quite like a fresh coat of snow covering every surface in sight.
In short, tonight and tomorrow morning promise more snow, more fun, and more reminders that winter in Southcentral Alaska is not messing around.
Stay warm, drive carefully, and keep your shovels handy.
