Good morning, babies. Memaw’s got the kettle on and the warning lights flashing. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning and it is the real deal. Heavy snow, poor visibility, and slick roads from Anchorage through the Mat-Su. This storm kicked off early this morning and sticks around until noon Wednesday. That light, powdery snow will blow right back across the road the second you think you can see. Slow down, plan extra time, and if you can wait, wait.
Winter Storm Warning Highlights
Heavy snow with 4 to 9 inches of additional accumulation.
Visibility down to one half mile at times.
Worst conditions near the Anchorage and Eagle River Hillsides and the Talkeetna Mountains.
Morning and evening commutes are the most hazardous.
Here’s how Memaw sees it, highway by highway.

| Evening | 12°F to 20°F | Snow refreezes quickly. Bridges and curves get slick fast. |
🚚 Sterling Highway

| Time of Day | Temperature | Driving Tips |
|---|---|---|
| Morning | 16°F to 24°F | Fresh snow and limited visibility. Leave early and be patient. |

| Evening | 14°F to 22°F | Powdery snow blows back across lanes. Stay alert for changing conditions. |
☕️ Memaw’s bottom line. This storm means business. If you do not have to be out, stay put and stay cozy. If you do, slow down, leave space, and get home safe. Memaw wants to see you tomorrow.
